how would a person become a special education’s teacher for handy capt children?

I have volunteered in a special needs classroom for two years now. I have worked with these children and seem to really like the occupation. I was wondering how would a person become a special education’s teacher for severely handy capt children? What kind of classes should I take in college? Would Modesto Junior college be a good place to start?
